Cardiff Dragons retained their EKL trophy, finishing 2 points ahead of last season’s runners-up, Bristol City. Despite defeats earlier in the season to Bristol University and Exeter City, they sealed the trophy by winning all three matches in the second stage of the season.
Cardiff City finished in 4th place, though they’d been in with a chance of winnning the title until they lost away at Dragons and could have finished second but for a narrow defeat by Bristol City in the final match of the season.
Cardiff University finished 7th, after a season where they were hindered by a failure to score enough goals. They beat Taunton home and away, and a home victory over Horfield late on in the season suggested they might have finished ahead of the Bristol side too had it not been for several key absences in the away match.
