Cardiff City come 5th in Europa Cup (West)

Following a final day victory over KC Roude Leiw of Luxembourg and a narrow defeat against French champions Bonson, Cardiff City ultimately finished 5th out of 7 in the Europa Cup Western Division, won by Orel State University from Russia, with CC Oeiras from Portugal also qualifying.

Cardiff City at the Europa Cup

After 2 days of the Europa Cup (Western Division) in Luxembourg, Cardiff CIty have had a tough tournament, with a narrow victory over St Andrews University and three defeats, all by clear margins, against the champions of Portugal, Catalonia and Russia. However, the latter 3 teams, Oeiras, Vacarisses and Orel are by some distance the strongest teams in the competition, and with games remaining against the home team, Roude Leiw, and French champions Bonson, Cardiff City still have an excellent chance of getting 4th place overall. Unfortunately, in order to qualify for the Europa Cup finals, they would need to finish in the top two, which is now beyond them.
