For the second year, Wales took part in the international tournament organised by Dutch club Stadskanaal 74 in Groningen. As well as the host club the 8 participating sides included the national teams of Slovakia, Luxembourg, Wales and Scotland, plus 2 clubs from Germany and one from Stockholm.
According to the Stadskanaal site the final placings were as follows:
1 – Albatros
2 – Stadskanaal ‘74
3 – Slovakia
4 – Tus Wesseling
5 – Luxembourg
6 – Wales
7 – Scotland
8 – SKK Stockholm

I wasnt there, but I’m pretty sure they finished 6th without ever playing Slovakia on the Saturday but on Sunday beat both Luxemburg and Slovakia in the international 1 hr games thus claiming revenge for the defeat last year.

Hmm. I took my info from the Stadskanaal site, but obviously shouldn’t believe everything I read on the web!
Beating Slovakia on the Sunday is an awesome result, given the difference between the teams at the EuroBowl final.

What happened at the Eurobowl was an abberation though, I have never been part of a Welsh team that has played that poorly!!

Well thankfully there was a camera in Stadskanaal recording the game,so soon to be seen on korball.tv is the whole game and Wales’ revenge!
